Macquarie Area Rehabilitation Services (MARS Inc) Review
In late 2008 Walter Turnbull was engaged by Northern Sydney Central Coast Mental Health Drug and Alcohol (NSCCMHDA) to conduct an external review of the Community Recreation, Education, Access, Training and Employment (CREATE) program operating at Macquarie Area Rehabilitation Services (MARS) Inc.
As a result of the findings NSCCMHDA recognised the need for changes to occur to the program being delivered and put out a document calling for expressions of interest to organisations to submit a tender to conduct the program. This tender process has been put on hold as a result of concerns expressed by consumers and carers involved in the program.
A review panel has been formed by the Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Office, NSW Health to consider the concerns addressed by consumers, carers, staff, and NSCCMHDA and to put forward recommendations to the Minister Assisting the Minister for Health (Mental Health), the Hon. Barbara Perry MO regarding the best directions.
This page provides information from the Review Panel about its current work.
