Minister's XI Annual Cricket Match
It was another exciting and fun day at the Minister's XI Annual Cricket Match held on 16th November. The cricket match is something we all look forward to each year. With a history of 11 years, the cricket match is a jointly coordinated effort by NSW Consumer Advisory Group - Mental Health Inc., the Schizophrenia Fellowship and Aftercare. It is a wonderful opportunity for celebrating awareness of mental health. We were grateful to have the Hon. Barbara Perry, Minister Assisting the Minister for Health (Mental Health) join us to present certificates to all players, awards to the best batsman, best bowler, best fielder and the most valuable player from each team, as well as to present the perpetual trophy to the winning team.
Big congratulations to the combined team from Pioneer Clubhouse with the Schizophrenia Fellowship, and the Morisset FLAMES group for their victory this year. The competition was strong from Aftercare. We hope that everyone is training hard for the next match in 2009.

Launch of the Resource Centre
NSW CAG, the Mental Health Association NSW (MHA) and the Association for the Relatives and Friends of the Mentally Ill NSW (ARAFMI) have collaborated on a joint Mental Health Resource Centre. The Centre is located at our shared offices at Suite 501, 80 William Street. The Centre houses a range of resources related to mental illness, and is available to the public for use and borrowing.
The Centre was opened by the Honorable Paul Lynch, Minister Assisting the Minister for Health (Mental Health) on 12th December 2007.

Opening of the William Street office
In September 2006, NSW CAG, ARAFMI and MHA moved in to their new premises at Suite 501, 80 William Street. The move to co-locate the three organisations stemmed from an idea during a Project meeting in 2003 between the organisations that they would like to work more closely together, and be located in the community where we felt we belonged. After much work to secure joint funding, find a suitable location, and arrange the fit out, the three organisations finally moved in together in September 2006. The offices were formally opened on 15th March 2007 by the Hon. Cherie Burton, Minister Assisting the Minister for Health (Mental Health).
