NSW CAG and MHCC Recovery Project

NSW CAG is currently working in partnership with the Mental Health Coordinating Council on developing a recovery resource for mental health community managed organisations in NSW.

The aim of this project is to develop a resource to assist community managed organisations in achieving recovery orientation across all aspects of service provision. The resource in development is the Recovery Oriented Services Self Assessment Toolkit ("ROSSAT") that organisations can use to assess both organisational and individual worker's recovery orientation. Included in the ROSSAT is two tools: one for organisations and the other for individual workers to complete. These tools identify current practice, and opportunities for improvement to enhance recovery orientation.

The Toolkit encourages reflective practice that identifies and builds upon recovery oriented practice on a regular basis. Consultations with consumers, carers and service providers were conducted in NSW to inform the content of the Toolkit, and shaped the six areas of focus in ROSSAT:
